Has this ever taken place in our nation's history before at Arlington or is this the first instance known of gravesite problems? The graves in question are 211 that are inconsistent in record keeping out of examining 15,000. That's a big task. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=128217538

I know there are many pioneer and veterans graves in older cemeteries nationwide that are not kept up, and abandoned, Dog parks are becoming a theme for older cemeteries, a different subject but desceration nonethless.

Our nation and citizens do not treat our deceased burial sites very well with dignity long term. Families move on and time takes over, changes occur.

No grave of any veteran should be descecrated on any level. Federal laws apply to serve that care in case of, and there are many dignified burials as well at Arlington.

Just so shocking reading the articles about these veteran burial sites, first thoughts are 'wrong', but then the details of the problem only a few will really ever know I suppose.
