Hey all,

I'm attempting to track down some sources, first to verify something I was told and then to possibly expand it into a research topic.

Is anyone familiar with any published sources or individuals familiar with Iranian contributions to re-construction efforts in South Vietnam in the late 1960s/early 1970s? Farsi sources are fine.

Thank you!

No knowledge about such reconstruction asistance. However, Iran was one of the four participants in the International Commission for Control and Supervision (ICCS) created to monitor implementation of the Jan '73 Cease Fire. You may want to look that up, if interested.

Cheers,
Mike

Might not be directly related, but perhaps this brings you to some other tracks.

Within the frame of Projects "Enhance" and "Enhance Plus", the former Imperial Iranian Air Force (IIAF), provided a significant number of its F-5As to South Vietnamese AF, in late 1972 (this in exchange for the IIAF getting first F-5Es from the production line). A total of 118 F-5s were delivered from Iran, South Korea and Taiwan o South Vietnam within these two projects, shortly before the ceasefire of January 1973.
