A sharp eyed Council member has pointed out this coverage (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-10714192) of a recent flaw in vBulletin, the software that drives the discussion board.
The flaw impacts a different version than the one we use. There is no threat to our board from this issue.
FYI, we rush to install patches and security updates but tend to loiter when it comes to routine upgrades - less time spent on the bleeding edge is time well spent. That served us well this time around. Even a blind hedgehog finds an acorn every now and then.
