PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (AP) -- Thai and Cambodian forces battled for a fourth straight day along their disputed border Monday, as Cambodia accused its neighbor of damaging two ancient temples in weekend clashes.

Southeast Asian diplomats are struggling to end the repeated deadly flare-ups, but Thailand's prime minister appeared to reject outside help Monday, saying the two countries have to resolve the dispute alone.

Thailand and Cambodia are amassing armor and heavy artillery along their common border raising fears that a long-running territorial dispute could escalate into a full-scale war, local media reported on Monday.
A fragile cease-fire between the two Southeast Asian states was broken on Friday when the sides exchanged artillery, rocket and rifle fire. By Monday at least 12 soldiers on both sides were reported to have been killed and dozens more wounded.
"A high concentration of troops and weaponry on the border threatens to turn the conflict into a large-scale war," the Bangkok Post said.

of full scale war? I love how the media plays these things up. Well, this is Ria Novosti. Definitely some action and it has whipped up nationalism on the Cambodian side. Nothing like shelling a centuries old national (and UNESCO heritage) treasure to stir that up (whether true or not). That nationalism might come in handy during upcoming elections. Of course, Thailand is not Grenada or the Falklands.

Apparently, a (downed) drone/UAV was found near Preah Vihear temple (near Thai/Cambodia border), including the so-called "black box". The PM, Hun Sen, said it wasn't Thai b/c it isn't the kind of plane used by Thailand and he doesn't believe Thailand would do this. He stated, instead, that he believed it was a terrorist experiment, potentially to prepare for terrorist attacks in Cambodia or Thailand. He mentioned AQ adn JI as the potential terrorist organizations behind the drone experiment.

Just curious to know if it's confirmed whether the Thai military has UAVs and have been using them. Also, what type of "black box" might a drone carry, if any.
