Taking photographs that lead to police and private security guards interest by professional photographers in particular, secondly by the general public in the UK, has become an issue here too. Much of the campaigning is London-based, although known incidents occur across the UK. Try this:http://photographernotaterrorist.org/

It has not helped with a poster campaign under the Anti-Terrorist Hotline logo, that featured something similar IIRC to why are they taking that photograph? Which then generates a citizen calling the hotline and a SAR ensuing.

Nearly every time both police and security guards appear to "shoot themselves in the foot".

Not so long ago a senior police officer issued guidance on the policy and procedures. In the UK thee is no legal power for a police officer to demand images are deleted from a camera's memory, only a court can do that.
