Chinese scientists have created a camera which can spot a stressed person among a crowd in a bid to counter a spate of terror attacks by spotting those potentially about to commit a crime....(using) hyperspectral imaging to detect the amount of blood in oxygen and calculate stress levels. The scientists claim that they are able to distinguish between those with high oxygen levels due to physical activity and those caused by stress

I am aware a number of private companies have offered pre-boarding screening devices, including one in Israel. Such a system would be very different from facial recognition systems already in - limited - use.

A BBC World Service report from Guiyang, a Chinese city in the south-west, with a population of over 4m and noted for its investment in big data and computing. Background and map:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guiyang

The BBC reports (5mins podcast) states:
China has been building what it calls "the world's biggest camera surveillance network". Across the country, 170 million CCTV cameras are already in place and an estimated 400 million new ones will be installed in the next three years. Many of the cameras are fitted with artificial intelligence, including facial recognition technology. The BBC's John Sudworth has been given rare access to one of the new hi-tech police control rooms. It is a rather curious piece, complete with interviews - all reassuring, bar one - and is aimed at everyone.

From a Chinese news site (in Mandarin) via Google, thanks to Nada Bakos:
This is not Google Glass, but facial recognition glass connected to Chinese police database. Deployed to a Zhengzhou railway station 5 days ago, it has detected at least 7 fugitives and 26 fake ID holders.Link to news site:http://new.qq.com/omn/20180205/20180205A0MBQ8.html#p=6
