NORAD, 12 Dec 07: Canadian NORAD Region Names Santa's Escort Pilots (http://www.forces.gc.ca/site/newsroom/view_news_e.asp?id=2527)

As Christmas gets closer, the Canadian North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Region has put the finishing touches on plans to track and escort Santa Claus when he visits Canada by naming four CF-18 fighter pilots as his official escorts.

Capts. Dave Moar and Craig Sharp of 4 Wing Cold Lake, Alta., and Capts. Colin Marks and Yannick Jobin of 3 Wing Bagotville, Que., will take on the responsibility of welcoming Santa when he arrives in Canada on his annual Christmas Eve journey, and escorting him safely through Canadian airspace.

The pilots will also take photos and video of Santa and his sleigh using special NORAD SantaCams mounted on their aircraft. The SantaCams instantly download the photo and video imagery so that it may be viewed by children worldwide on the NORAD Tracks Santa (http://www.noradsanta.org) website on December 24. All of this information will be available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish......

I smell a couple of Bronze Stars in the making. I remember that during Desert Storm our Air Force gave them out to people working in the Pentagon.

Ted, Thanks ! Glad you posted this as I’ve been in a 12-year battle with the Finns and Swedes over Santa’s nationality. Every year and with every email and message, they sign off with ‘regards from the land of Father Christmas’ or ‘regards from Lapimaa (Lapland), home of Santa’.

Dammit already, Santa’s an Amurikan and lives on the North Pole in Alaska…you boneheads !

No self-righteous Canadian fighter pilot is going to fly from Finland to Canada, when Santa lives in Alaska

Just ask 'em the last time they made a Santa Claus movie. They can't cause Santa speaks English when he consents to appearing in a movie.

Santa might want a lap dance in Lapland but he don't live there...

I always get it mixed up--elves are from Slapout, fairies are from Prattville, right?
