The contract was awarded on 28 January, he's the email that I sent out:

All;

On 28 January Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager Training Systems awarded a contract To the Tactical Language Training Systems (TLTS) www.tacticallanguage.com. The contract is; M67854-08-8041, Automatic Language Training System (ALTS).

ALTS is broken down into two main task and on option task. The first task will be developing a web based culture and language training curriculum that will be compatible with NMCI machines and the Marine Net Learning Management System (LMS). We are leveraging work being down by Dr Joseph Weeks of the Air Force Research Lab in this effort.

The second task is to take the Language and Culture capabilities from the Tactical Iraqi Training System and seamlessly integrating it with two tactical first person shooter simulations that are currently being used or under development. Bohemia International’s Virtual Battle Space 2 Virtual Tool Kit http://www.vbs2.com/site/news.html and Total Immersion’s DARPA sponsored Real World http://www.totimm.com/what.html The develop a culture and language mission rehearsal capability with both tactical simulations systems.

The option task in the contract is for the development of Tactical Bahasa.

On 27 February we will be conducting a Systems Requirements Review for this project at Quantico. Normally these reviews are conducted between Government representatives and the Contractor that was awarded the contract. Due to the deliverables of this contract, input from all in this email is desired to ensure that the project delivers a training device to the Warfighter.

Please respond to this email if you will or will not attend the meeting. The meeting location on Quantico will be determined by the amount of attendees. If you think of anyone that was left off of the list please forward to them.

My cell is 24/7, if you have any questions, please feel free to call at anytime.

Thank you.

S/F
