Look still new to SWJ and posting so if this isn’t the place or the right sort of material then I apologise.

But…..working for Fairfax as I do, I spend a lot of time looking at our home page, the online version of the Sydney Morning Herald. This morning over fruit loops I saw this and just thought people may get a small moment of pleasure out of it.

As a news story goes it will be fairly mainstream, covered by AAP.

But…the story…Tiger escapes, charges news crew, Putin grabs handy tranquiliser gun and deftly puts tiger to the mat. The beginning of a new ‘don’t tread on me’ campaign by the Russian government?

My gut says it was staged. Politicians are lame and their spin doctors who come up with this stuff are lamer.

The picture I saw was Putin helping put a radio Collar on the trank'd tiger.

A rare subspecies biological study.

He coulda shot the tiger with the trank, but I suspect a professional biologist did the deed.
