I'm looking for open sources of Qali-i-Jangi imagery. I've done the standard searches on the 'net, but haven't found either good overhead imagery, or detailed photos of the fort. I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

(Added to help. The fort was the scene of a prison revolt, in an old fort, by captured Taliban, in Northern Afghanistan in 2001; where a CIA officer died: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Qala-i-Jangi )

much more likely if you offer the reason for your request and if you go to this LINK (http://council.smallwarsjournal.com/showpost.php?p=77219&postcount=1015) and add a new Post introducing and giving a little background on yourself.

I've found that flikr is a great source for images. I did a quick search and came up with some images (here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jhattam/47349552/)and here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/18207098@N00/120368915/)). Deeper searches with alternative spellings are likely to get you more. The imagery search on google provides a lot of pictures as well.

What is it exactly you're looking for?

Thanks for the links, especially the overheads.

I'm modeling the fort in 3D for a simulation.

If you're willing to spend some dough, there is probably higher rez imagery available from digitalglobe, geoeye or another provider.

Any interest in Ground level pictures?

I took a bunch back in 06/07. Not sure how many of them I have with me here in Iraq, but I will look.
