I was just wondering if anyone knew the title to the companion guide that followed the US Army/Marine Corps Counterinsurgency Manual. I ask because I saw it at Borders a while back but I forgot the title and can't seem to find it online? I was also planning on buying both of the books together if I can find out the title for the second book.

Btw the guide was in the same green and white cover format as the counterinsurgency manual.

Kevin23--

You're thinking of FM 3-07, Stability Operations. Note that the publisher is different from the folks who put out 3-24.

Hope this helps--regards from Kabul.

Faux news and deplete Rupert's wealth while at the same time attacking Obama care, the UAW and while embarrassing the defense Minister of Israel, Hugo Chavez and Hosni Mubarak, simultaneously boosting the Presidency of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -- note that IRAN appears in bold, graphic and text as well as the cluster of microdots within Israel's borders. There are a lot of really devious people out there...

NSA should extract this post in <27.0 µs... :D

Just my opinion but FM 3-24.2 Tactics in Counterinsurgency is what I would consider more of the companion manual and I highly recommend it. Cavguy provided the link for a free download in his post.

FYI, the English-Arabic version of FM 3-24 has a lot of errors in the Arabic.

...and FM 3-24.2 has an extremely flaky description of "Satellite Patrolling." - at least in comparison to the way I was taught. Maybe knit picking, but it leapt off the page at me.
