I ask this from outside the military and reflects much of what I have read on SWC in the last six months plus.
'Fighting to learn' in pre-deployment training -v- 'Learning to fight' from experience in the field?
How well does TRADOC ensure what all ranks need for a 'Small War' is reflected in pre-deployment training and prepares them for action. It is IMHO clear that learning in the field is far more than experience, lessons learnt etc.
A particular interest is how a foriegn army, in this instance the USA primarily and its allies, prepares for immersion in a very different culture.
