Does anyone know how transcript or presentation can be obtained? I'll see if the media POC can provide anything.

I can only imagine what this crowd will have to say... . . . . .

Much more interested in what Dorronsoro has to say.

You mean the soaring intellect and unvarnished military advise of Wes Clark doesn't float the boat??:p

unfinished?

Recall the bicycle LINK (http://www.nytimes.com/2003/09/11/technology/circuits/11clar.html). I'm still visualizing hordes of electric bikes with armed troops aboard -- unable to use their weapons while abiking but still, armed... :D

Ken, you're a funny guy. "... while abiking but still, armed." You get points for giving me a smile before I wander off to bed tonight.

The best recent clip from Dorronsoro is from a Nov. 5 CAP Talk, along with Micheal Semple and Joanne Nathan.

Dorronsoro doesn't change his spots to suite the audience, so this might satisfy your interest.

Kim Kagan is interviewed by Katie Kouric on the CBS News website today. (I had only seen her before in Iraq in field clothes. Not used to seeing her cleaned up and in a dress.)

Transcripts of HASC hearings are normally available in pdf format on the HASC website (http://armedservices.house.gov/hearing_information.shtml) shortly after the hearing - sometimes later that same day.

Here they are for the one you're interested in: Clark (http://armedservices.house.gov/pdfs/OI111709/Clark_Testimony111709.pdf), Kagen (http://armedservices.house.gov/pdfs/OI111709/Kagen_Testimony111709.pdf), Dorronso (http://armedservices.house.gov/pdfs/OI111709/Dorronsoro_Testimony111709.pdf) and Krepenevich (http://armedservices.house.gov/pdfs/OI111709/Krepinevich_Testimony111709.pdf).

Jedburgh:

Thanks for the cite to the HASC transcripts.

The one that really made me jump is Dorronsoro's point that we assist the Taliban by killing off their competitor tribal chiefs. Hadn't heard him explain that before.

So its not just how many we kill, but who, that matters very much.

Interesting.

Mullah Dadullah, Beradar, etc. were not "competitor tribal chiefs" but major Taliban commanders. Dorronsoro cites them as powerful field commanders who might have eventually become independent of the Quetta Shura high command, but I don't think there is any real evidence of that.
