Breeches. :D
You're probably right -- we can both pick on the Puddy Tat Brigahde...
Just to keep Tom Odom alert. ;)
...we both know the 505 are the Division Darlings.
And the "Oh Nine?" They never acknowledged another regiment as being...well, they never acknowledged another regiment. :wry:
and deservedly so :DQuote:

The most deployed BCT, and the most assault landing credits in its elements (check it out, A/3-319 made the jump in Vietnam), plus Panama. I don't know how the jump by B/3-504 works, since they've been deactivated.
Pink Panthers are cute...:D
I think we need to rename this the hater thread. I see we're getting a lot of commentary from 3-325 "Blue Falcons" where buddy is only half the word:D.
And CR6, if remember correctly, that scandal back in the late 1990's over paratroopers cross-dressing came out of 1st Brigade :).
Bring It.
Mike
Wanda, the Divsion Darling:D I can't help it.....I just couldn't resist.....

The brigades were "regimentalized" in '85 or '86. In 1st Brigade 2/508 became 3/504 and in 3rd Brigade 1/508 became 3/505.
It's changed again since then. There are now four brigades of two battlions each, so 1/508 and 2/508 came back as 4th Brigade and the other brigades each lost their third battalion.
Makes zero sense to me. I would have thought that there were always times when two battalions in a brigade were enough and always times when four were needed. Didn't three prove to be a good number to task organize up or down from for a lot of years?
I'd be curious to know how often it's been necessary to deploy one of these new brigades with another battalion opconned to them.
