New Book: Rapid Fire!

Hi, I am new to this forum and I am happy to have discovered it; I hope to contribute in some small way. I read that it is acceptable to make a plug for a product and I would like to introduce a book that I have authored and just published:

Rapid Fire! Tactics for High Threat, Protection and Combat Operations

The blurb for the book is: The purpose of this manual is to provide information to enhance tactics and protection skills for those operating in high threat, protection and combat environments. This includes the operations of the following, by no means exclusive list: special operations forces (SOF), specialized military teams, security escort teams, high threat protection agents, tactical law enforcement and SWAT teams, paramilitary law enforcement teams, and also civilians intent on improving their tactical skills and knowledge. The information in this manual is derived from years of experience gained from training and operational service with SOF followed by years of employment as a security contractor in hostile environments including Iraq and Afghanistan. It is a distillation of military and security training, principles, and tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) adapted to the threat and environment anticipated in this type of scenario in order to provide knowledge needed to train tactical teams to operate effectively in high threat and combat environments.

I make no claim to be the most high speed guy in the valley or any other similar nonsense. I simply have some useful experience and a love of instructing that I would like to share with those who are receptive to it. I have service with both the UK and US military, as well as a private security contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan for 5 years, and I have combined TTPs that I have trained, experienced and assimilated over my 20 year career into this book.

I hope some of you find it useful. I think it would be a good resource for team leaders on high threat protection duties, paramilitary forces and also squad and platoon leaders.

I have spent some time now reading through some of the very interesting threads in this forum, in particular under the "trigger puller" section. I have wanted to respond to some but the threads seem so well established, involved and responded to it almost seemed superfluous. The knowledge of some of you is very impressive. I just read through the suppressive fire thread, good stuff

This book, "Rapid Fire", is above all a professional soldiers take on tactics and combat. It does also include protection operations and movement/contact drills in vehicles and the tactics that apply to that. It also includes some good honest professional infantry soldiering and a both cerebral and practical look at the topic. It can be used as a manual. Things like psychological effects in attack, suppressive fire and the like are covered. I don't like all that I see around me in the military nowadays and the idea behind the book was for it to be a resource to pass on my accumulated knowledge and "the good stuff' in terms of how to conduct operations at primarily the squad and platoon level. It is not specifically a military manual, it could be used effectively as such, but it also applies to anyone conducting paramilitary or close protection contractor type operations.

My background and training had a starting point as a professional soldier, as both enlisted and then commissioned, in the British Parachute Regiment. The way to professionally conduct light infantry and vehicle mounted operations is laid out in the book.

It is not the Ranger Handbook. Why but another book on tactics when you already know all about them? If you wish to learn about small unit tactics and operations, and even if you are already trained as an infantry soldier, you will learn something from it.
