Wednesday, 9 April should usher in a tidal wave of STRATCOM/IO activity.

ITEM: GEN Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker will be grilled by incredulous democrats (to include Senators Clinton and Obama) on the Senate Armed Services Committee.

ITEM: Moqtada al Sadr has told his followers to organize a million-person peaceful protest in Baghdad against the presence of Coalition Forces in Iraq.

ITEM: Iraqi PM Nuri al Maliki has ordered the disarmament of the Mahdi Army militia. This ultimatum comes with a deliverable: failure to disarm JaM will result in the Sadrists being barred from the upcoming provincial elections.

Its going to be interesting to see how our IO efforts explain the activities. You can bet the Middle East media will be all over the confluence of these events. It could actually turn out to be a decisive victory for the GOI. Let's hope.
