I have seen that phrase to "Pattern of Life Analysis." Not sure what it means:confused: It could cover a lot of ground. I doubt if you will find a lot of open source material on it, but you never know. But as far as finding Criminals and teaching people how to find Criminals I used this. This is old school stuff so you would have to bring it up to the Goggle generation I guess. Everyone has 24 hours and they have to be somewhere in that 24 hours. The primary information sources I sought at the street level were Your checkbook, your date(calendar) book, and your address book. If you can figure out how people spend their time and their money you will end up with a Daily Routine and everyone has one even people who try to avoid one.Quote:

"Pattern of life" analysis isn't new, and is just really a standard piece of pattern analysis that has long been used in the unconventional environment. Although they don't mention the term, see the '63 Undergrounds in Insurgent, Revolutionary and Resistance Warfare and the '65 Human Factors of Undergrounds in Insurgencies from SORO for examples of practical application.Quote:

JIEDDO's Attack the Network Field Guide - Afghanistan discusses collection on patterns of life.
JIEDDO's Attack the Network Beta Playbook discusses how to improve collection on patterns of life.
JFCOM's Commander's Handbook on Attack the Network discusses pattern analysis in some detail, but doesn't specifically talk about "patterns of life" (except very briefly, in the context of a TIP). But given the discussion in the JIEDDO pub above, you should be able to readily make the necessary connections.
