Baghdad interpreter mask ban still in effect??

Can anyone tell me if the ban on interpreters wearing masks is still in effect in Baghdad? DOD told the Senate they rescinded the policy, but interpreters and the rumor mill are telling me that the ban is still alive and kicking.

I'm a former Army captain (OIF 1 with 1AD, OEF 6 with 173rd Airborne) who helps resettle former Iraqi interpreters.

Any information you can give me is much appreciated.
