Foreign Investment and Aceh

I am doing a small research project on the impact of foreign direct investment on insurgencies (or seperatist movement or terrorist orgs). I'm starting with Aceh because of the "convienent" Tsunami that both interupted the momentum of DI/JI and brought in a lot of foreigners.

I'm looking for information (1st hand, 2nd, academic / mil / ngo literature, etc) on the impact of of the foreign aid (NGO, corporate, governmental) that came flowing in on financial support, psycho-social support, and recruiting for JI.

The research question is: what affect, if any, does FDI have on insurgencies?
