For those of you that are deep in UW for a historical perspective I have run across these in my readings, I have not read them myself so I can't vouch for them:

Minimanual of the Urban Guerilla by Carlos Marighella
WWII Guerilla Warfare in Russia and Poland
WWII The Art of Guerilla Warfare
Guerilla Warfare: In the Eyes of the Politician, the Conterinsurgent and the Guerilla by Stephen A. Antonelli III
WWII The Partisan Leader Handbook.

The Marighella book is somewhat dated, but it was of great interest to the terrorist groups of the 1970s and 1980s. I've actually got a copy of it floating around my bookshelves, and it's a good read.

In Sri Lanka I find LTTE insurgents following the concepts of Carlos Marighella with remarkable results. For those interested in UW, I recommend a study of Marighella's Minimanual of the Urban Guerilla (available on the net) of his philosophy on urban guerilla warfare. Of course, some are dated concepts.
