Default Military Art & Science Journals

I did a (admittedly half-hearted) forum search and
found no good list on this topic. I'd like to see your
    suggestions for advisable journals.

I found these journals to be worthwhile in the past:

    Armor Magazine
(only old articles online for all, most of them about great war stuff)

    Infantry Journal (same)
I liked these two much when they were still unrestricted.
The equivalents of other branches were rather disappointing to me.

    Proceedings (naval)

    Österreichische Militärische Zeitschrift

    Doctrine
(in English; reading French is more tiresome to me)

    Military Review

    Canadian Military Journal

    Seapower

    Offiziere.ch

I think there was also an Australian Army Journal interesting,
but I don't remember specifics. Several others were certainly
forgotten and the 2-hour-edit restriction here will prevent corrections.

What publication would you suggest for an attempt to publish a long* article
on some military theory stuff (armoured recce & operational art)?

    *: E7.5 pages A4 = 4,000 words = 25k characters

The Marine Corps Gazette is a good journal as well. It's sort of online, with access to a limited number of articles (which is the same for Proceedings).

Plugging myself, I edit a newsletter callled the GI Zhou (pronounced GI Joe) Newsletter, primarily on the People's Liberation Army but it also includes my translated material on North East Asian militaries. It is available free by contacting me.

I am always looking for good product and can assure you the work gets read it all the wrong places. Drop me a line if you want to have something published.

You should also include the Jamestown Foundation's series of on-line journals in a list of Military Art and Science Journals.

    Hi GI Zhou,

Does the newsletter you edit have an online site? Because I tried searching it and I can't seem to find it and I'm always interested in reading new things on the PLA.

I am more than happy to put the complete set of the newsletters (without my family stuff in them) and my two books on this website if someone can show me how, and add to it everytime I publish one.

The simplest way to do that is to sign up for a free blog site and upload them. Look at any of the following

If the newsletters are in pdf, all of these should work
