If I was getting my ass kicked, and it was the only thing to hand, I'd give it a try.
As far as purchasing one to carry? IMHO, its another tool to learn to use, and I'd rather carry the weight in magazines for rifle or pistol. But that's just me.

The Randall knives thread got me to thinking about tomahawks.
Anyone own and carry one? Do you find it practical or not?
As a hard core Last of the Mohicans and The Patriot fan it's one of those things I've been meaning to get but never have.
