For those with access to Army's CALL
The Army's Center for Lessons Learned has released a new newsletter dealing with marksmanship and snipers which is very interesting. Kudos to the Small Wars Council's Tom Odom, who authored a chapter about countering urban snipers which is very well written. If you've got access (it's "For Official Use Only") definatly check it out.
"The Infantry’s primary role is close combat, which may occur in any type of mission, in any theater, or environment. Characterized by extreme violence and physiological shock, close combat is callous and unforgiving.
