    Default Random question..

The Gerald Templar quote that graces Mr. William Owen's posts reminded me of a scene in apocalypse now where Kurtz is reading from old TIME magazine stories and one story is about some British general with experience in Malaysia who did a study tour and gave a report to Nixon.....did that actually happen? and was that general Templar? Does anybody know?
    just curious..

The story line of "Apocalypse Now" borrowed a lot from the Joseph Conrad novel Heart of Darkness. In each of them was an outwardly cultured man named Kurtz who became more uncivilized the further up the river he traveled. However, I don't believe the lines about "napalm in the morning" or "Charlie don't surf" are to be found in Conrad's writings.
