    Default Return of the Hamburger

From Gen. Petraeus' interview in today's Washington Post:

"With respect to Burger Kings, all options are on the table," he said.
See how rough it is being a DoD contractor? It's an on-again off-again way to earn a living. DoD contractors certainly deserve more sympathy than they get. Maybe I should set up a Schnell Imbiss bratwurst stand over there.

You'd better be schnell though, before the next change of command.

Hamburgers have a distinguished tradition in the U.S. armed forces. I've read about infantry companies on the line during the Bulge being sent mermite cans full of them, along with coffee. If I'm not mistaken they were made out of the old field meat ration called "Four Ways," which meant it could be prepared in four different ways. Perhaps a veteran of the Korean Police Action can bear me out on this one.
