Default Small Wars Manual 1940 Edition

I hope this isn't against your rules...but in doing research on this book I found your site. Your members may want to know that I posted a 1940s original Small Wars Manual on eBay today. My dad is a long retired Marine and he has had this since his earliest years in the Corp. I also have info from an archivist in Quantico about the book. This is not a reproduction. The eBay number is:
    Item number: 120624883350
Come by and take a look! Thanks, Sue

Well, I was hoping to get this for the eventual Small Wars Foundation library. I'm currently the high bidder but you obviously have set a fairly high reserve. We shall see, don't want to break the bank on this, though the book deserves a good home.

    Default Small Wars Manual

Thanks very much for checking out the auction. Yes, the reserve is set at 200
dollars. The reason is that when I last asked a rare book seller for advise about the potential value of the book he remarked 450-550. That was a couple years ago. But, as I said in the ad the book is pretty rare in complete condition.

I would love to hear about the library plans! Sue

    Default Small Wars Foundation

The Small Wars Journal and Small Wars Council are operated by the Small Wars Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered in Virginia. Part of the long range plan is for SWF to have a physical location (currently virtual except for events we host at rented or military venues) in the DC metro area. That facility would include offices, conference rooms and a library. As an aside I met your reserve on the SWM at ebay.

    Default Sounds great..

I'll definitely tell my dad about the library plans. He would probably be interested in this site as well. Thanks for the info. I'll have to spend a little more time in here reading up on your groups.

The danger of first editions is that they can become addictive...in a good way.

Congratulations on scoring an important piece of history.
