I'm a bit irritated by the ranks of the speakers. These are top dogs; old men who climbed very high in the establishment.
The message to me seems to be that this event will be a societal event with emphasis on the talks in the breaks.

A seminar/conference/symposium that's meant to push for innovation would likely prefer speakers with an emphasis on innovative thought, not past success in the establishment. It would end up with captains, majors and LtCols as speakers.

A mere information, information dissemination, event is superfluous. The same can be communicated through many media without an actual gathering.

Agreed. Where's the speaker on Split Battery Operations? Where's the speaker on Battery Operations in support of Battalion COIN operations? You're ignoring current Fires issues for old ones.

Division/Corps level fires? Is this a joke?

I asked a lot of questions in this post, so I'll at least answer the last one. Yes, it is.

Well, I'm not against pushing the progress on conventional warfare topics.
I do have organised past professional conferences (for engineers and managers), though.

The big names or top dog people are fine for attracting bureaucrats and money-seekers (industrial people from the military-industrial complex); it's not messaging that this conference will contribute to improve artillery or its employment.

Then again, maybe this isn't meant to. This is probably the equivalent of a classic officer get-together with Waltzer dances, aristocratic ladies and music.
