The Turkish government is noted to be extremely slow...BUT it only took them SEVEN hours to put together a list of 4K to be fired from the judiciary, a list of 8k policemen and 21 police chiefs to be fired and or arrested....

It took only SEVEN hours to but together a list of all the senior commanders for the entire Army.......as well as a list of those who have been critical of Erdogan..........

Wow...this was a super fast Turkish government........

Erdogan acknowledges they knew about a "military activity" at least 7-10 hours before the coup

They named Gulen as the ring leader but produced no evidence and he even offered to come back to Turkey but no Turkish response...BUT then arrested a senior commander who was the brother of a high level AKP member?????

When you purge army, judiciary, interior ministry, ignore due process & promise executions. What does that sound like? Hmmm, a #TurkeyCoup?

This is balanced by a number of social media comments from the family members of some of the soldiers that have been arrested.....stating they had been told by their commanders that they were going on a short notice counter coup exercise...thus the minimum of ammo given to them...and or virtually no ammo...in some cases thus the quick surrender when confronted by civilians....

Turkey is resorting to the same bullying tactics used with the EU and recently with Germany.....

Turkey blames the failed coup on Fethullah Gulen, a cleric based in the United States who has a wide following in Turkey and denies any involvement.

Ankara has demanded Washington hand him over. Washington says it is prepared to extradite him but only if Turkey provides evidence linking him to crime. Yildirim rejected that demand.

"We would be disappointed if our (American) friends told us to present proof even though members of the assassin organization are trying to destroy an elected government under the directions of that person," Yildirim said.

"At this stage there could even be a questioning of our friendship," Yildirim added

1. Army generals charged today. 2. Death penalty to be signed if parliament legislates. 3. Executions imminent.

Erdogan cannot leave Southern divisions without command. Needs to convince officers to agree. Hence the arrests and control in cities.

Erdogan needs argument to keep Southern officers at bay and divisions in positions, because he cannot stop those units.

One has to realize that trying to keep a coup a secret with over 100 Generals supposedly involved would be short of a miracle......the Hilter attempt had only five major planners.....

Reports indicate 112 Generals been arrested. Total # of generals in Turkish Armed Forces btw 360-375.
