Default Venezuela Consul Expelled From US as Spy

The State Department booted Venezuela's consul general over an alleged plot among Venezuela Iran and Cuba diplomats to start a cyberattack against Washington.

The department said it gave Livia Acosta Noguera, Venezuela's consul general in Miami, until Tuesday to leave the United States after declaring her "persona non grata," the most serious form of censure a country can apply to a foreign diplomat, who is otherwise protected by diplomatic immunity from arrest and other normal kinds of prosecution.

The FBI investigated her after the Spanish-language network Univision aired a documentary in December reporting that while stationed in Mexico, Acosta Noguera met with Iranian officials and allegedly plotted cyber attacks on U.S. nuclear power facilities and other government buildings.

Iran and Venezuela ganging up on the US?
    What's that about, you ask?
