    Default Mission Can't-Complete / O'Hanlon

    http://council.smallwarsjournal.com/...ad.php?t=15303

I was rooting for O'Hanlon. I wanted this leading defense intellectual(...)
Let's get the facts right, for a change:

O'Hanlon is NO "leading defense intellectual" and never has been!

He's a primitive leading war cheerleader, accomplished attention-seeker and has been the media/thinktank darling pundit for years.

"Overrated" doesn't even come close to describe him.
Basically ALL he ever wrote was primitive war cheerleading crap, he only has skill in regard to appear as if he was an expert on anything other than getting attention. Whatever glimpse of thinking sensibly he ever showed; it was designed to make him a bit less assailable and make him appear more sensible than he is.
    He has consistently been wrong.

The U.S. will inevitably continue with military adventure stupidities if it cannot tell good advisers from horrible ones!

Stay stupid and delusional at your own risk.
I know for a fact that there were enough smart people who knew and said publicly in advance that certain stupidities were stupid and would be costly, and they are still being ignored as well as possible!

Default Cheerleaders are not necessarily bright but they have nice smiles.

    True. Very true.
    He has consistently been wrong.
    As is that...

    Also true.

Those who have nice smile that accord with happiness (or a set line of thought...) get more visibility in the media than those who know what they're doing but won't play along...

The same people seem to circle around the same positions. I have nothing against any one of them in particular, but we never improve it seems because there is no new thinking on anything.

(That is a completely vapid comment. This really is a test comment because the rest of the site will not allow me to post a comment. As soon as I do, I get logged out. Anyone else with the same problem?)

Yes, the problem with commenting on SWJ articles has been reported for a week now and has been referred to those who run the system.
