A solid thread to follow as it is at the heart and core of the Russian attempts to undermine the EU through their "fellow travelers" the neo right, ultra nationalists and fascists---which for some might be a contradiction in terms since Russia evolved out a Communism.

kaur---same story but in French ---France's far-right got a loan from a Russian bank thanks to an MEP who was also an "election observer" in Donetsk http://www.mediapart.fr/journal/fran...illions-russes

This time a "Russian fellow traveler from the old Communist days"--notice how he is parroting the Russian FMs comments of a "civil war":

    Reference France's le Pen:

    Ben Judah @b_judah

Frequent guest in Moscow. And strong opponent of NATO "imperialism" in Ukraine.

Has the Kremlin returned to it's Cold War strategy of trying to break NATO via sponsoring France extremists - just this time the right wing?

Seems like Russia is using massive info war tactics to get their two ships released to them---even faking polls in France.

Le Figaro did not publish results of #Mistral gallup because fraud - #Russians interfered with voting (French)

Trust in the Czech President after his pro Russian "fellow travelers comments" yesterday drops.

Zeman got elected after a rather dirty campaign, fitting seemingly the man which has acted in style...

    Kasparov remarked:

Czech president Zeman curses & attacks Russian political prisoners. Drunk, stupid, or looking for a job at Gazprom?
Apart from the direct successors of the DDR regime party, the Linke, most 'supportive' politicians come indeed from the (far) right although there are obviously guys which are linked through business ties.

The attempts of various CEO to influence the political game on behalf of a authoritative leadership with which the do much business are nothing new under the sun. It shouldn't surprise that the persons listed are mostly in sectors in which the relationship with said leaders and their circle is of the biggest importance.

Le Front national, nouveau « parti de l’étranger » ? opens brilliantly Mediapart's story. Le Monde reports it as well and after the French loss to the Swiss in the Davis Cup final it is the most read one. Obviously other nations spend money to influence the national politics of other countries, but at least in Europe I don't recall such a blunt effort. At least other European extremists were funded a bit more covertly...

Willing Banks Find Profits in Legal Trade With Iran

    Updated April 8, 2012 1:42 p.m. ET

As Western sanctions on Iran have grown tighter, some small banks have found a lucrative niche financing what remains of the legal trade with the Islamic Republic.
Top-tier financial institutions including Socit Gnrale SA and Rabobank Group have stepped back from business with Iran in recent months, citing increased political risk and logistical hassles that attend even legal trade with the country.

As a result, the remaining players are commanding higher fees and offering increasingly complicated services. Like Russia's First Czech-Russian Bank LLC and China's Bank of Kunlun Co. Ltd, they are typically small, obscure financial institutions often based in countries historically friendly to Iran.

While relatively small, the markets are large enough to attract smaller institutions. In February, some traders started flocking to First Czech-Russian Bank after word spread that it had started servicing Iran trade facilities, according to Iran trade professionals. In March, Roman Popov, the chairman and majority owner of the bank, was elected to lead the Russian-Iranian Business Council, promising to increase bilateral trade.

Seems to be blogger, who covers this Russia and far right topic. Good posts from him!

This development supports my earlier argument that "European right-wing extremists seem to benefit financially from their cooperation with the Kremlin"

As if on cue or is it a loan condition, as The Independent reports 'Paris attacks: Jean-Marie Le Pen says French terror attacks were work of Western intelligence':
The shooting at Charlie Hebdo resembles a secret service operation but we have no proof of that....I don’t think it was organised by the French authorities but they permitted this crime to be committed. That, for the moment, is just a supposition.
