You have to hand the President and his NSC a round of applause for the creative use of Webster’s.
First it was the bumbling attempts to not define what is occurring when one country illegally sends men, heavy weapons and supplies directly across an international border ---declared an “incursion” vs what it really is “an invasion”.
Now the term “strategic patience”---which is exactly what again?
If anyone has been exercising “strategic patience” it has been the Ukrainians who had large chucks of their territory annexed and or is in the process of being annexed all the while firmly believing that US/UK/Russian signed agreements provided them some sort of protection ie the Budapest Memorandum.
Then we have a Russian leader tied directly to a new form of Russian ethno nationalism ie fascism that has not come off of his three key geo political goals, 1) disconnecting the US from Europe, 2) discrediting NATO and 3) discrediting the EU all under the guise of his new UW strategy since the Crimea. By the way Russian leaders, politicians and ROC leaders have been using the term "Holy War" far to often lately.
Then we have a Russian leader who has violated just about all of any Soviet/Russian signed treaties, agreements, memorandums since the 1970s starting with the Final Helsinki Act to the now Russian signed Minsk Agreement which they never intended to implement.
Then we have two major Russia supported offenses since August against the Ukraine with heavy weapons, troops and munitions with all the evidence being provided by social media bloggers and their open source analysis---not a single word out of the billions used to support the IC by the way.
Then we have the Russian leader and his FM outright lying to the West at every opportunity with the latest being stating “we will pull the mercenaries back to the Minsk demarcation line and we support any immediate solution to stop the fighting” after the 31 civilians were killed by Russian shellings.
So again I ask just what is the US strategy of this NSC and White House as it seems that “strategic patience" is just another term for not doing anything and hoping that the problem will simply disappear.
