Here is the reality on the ground that now in fact Minsk 1 and 2 are utter failures--why western leaders keep stating diplomacy has to work in the face of solid violence is beyond me these days.
What is totally interesting is the true lack of anything resembling the US involvement at all in the Ukraine and a true lack of a US Russian strategy which they claimed to have one in their recent NSS.

Here we go again with Russian games and the West never seems to learn especially the French/Germans with the US not seen anywhere close to Minsk these days. Notice the Ukrainians are firing in declared self defense which is allowed and the mercenaries have never actually stopped firing and or attacking along the Minks demarcation lines.
