A perfect reason that the West simply needs to stop talking with Russia as it cannot be any longer trusted on anything.
Russia signed the 13 November implementation agreement for the ceasefire and Minks demarcation lines and then on 19 January "decides to unsign/recall it".
What the heck does "unsign/recall" mean---if they simply declare that no treaty, agreement or memorandum that they have ever signed no longer exists as being valid then why "talk" with Russia---waste of time as the Germans are finding out lately.
The Russian Federation has recalled its signature on the schedule of the implementation of the Minsk agreements dated November 13, 2014.
On January 18, Ukraine suggested it be signed again, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Yuriy Serheyev has said.
BUT remember it was Putin today and his Russian FM that accused the Ukraine or not responding to the Berlin proposal when in fact the 13 November Russian signed document addressed exactly the same proposals made in Berlin .
AND that is not "an altered state of reality"?
Can in fact Russia be trusted on anything they say and or do and or sign--should be asked in the capitals of the US/EU/NATO?
Another perfect example of the total confusion in the west on how to deal with Russia---the US remains silent, the Germans are spinning in a circle and now this EU decision.
Does not the EU realize exactly what the Russian strategic geo political goals are--seems not. Letting now Russia dictate to the EU on what they will or will not do--strange is it not?
The EU seems to be now in the back pocket of Putin--game over.

For those SWJ commenters here that when the Crimea occurred and then eastern Ukraine--often would state Putin was not after annexation and the Odessa land corridor for the Crimea--need to rethink your thinking.

When will the US/EU and NATO finally realize diplomatic approaches with the Russians have basically failed --notice throughout today there has been no statement to the Russian mercenary declaration of war coming out of the west until just now by the Germans---almost a full five hours after it was issued and carried on social media.
Even the Germans are having a hard time accepting that their efforts have actually failed--not sure just why they had assumed it would work.
