    Nothing to worry about.

VALDOSTA — Officials said this week they still have no information on the whereabouts of two Afghan trainees who have been missing from Moody Air Force Base since Dec. 7.

The missing men were at the base as part of an effort to train 30 Afghan pilots and 90 Afghan maintainers. Both were assigned to the 81st Fighter Squadron as maintainers. Air Force investigators, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local law-enforcement agencies have been searching for the two men after they failed to report for duty.

Bryan Cox, spokesman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said Monday the two are not in custody and the search is continuing. In a prepared statement, Moody officials stressed “the men do not pose any apparent threat.”

More than half a dozen military trainees from Afghanistan have disappeared over the course of about two weeks.
They were training at U.S. bases, including Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia, and Fort Benning near Columbus, Georgia.

One of two Afghan Air Force ground crew that went missing in December 2015 was found in mid-January 2016. There was a "twist":
The airman who was located is said to be seeking political asylum through an attorney

There is no public update on the "one who got away".

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Forty-four Afghan troops visiting the United States for military training have gone missing in less than two years, presumably in an effort to live and work illegally in America, Pentagon officials said.
Although the number of disappearances is relatively small -- some 2,200 Afghan troops have received military training in the United States since 2007 -- the incidents raise questions about security and screening procedures for the programs.
