Ukraine's ambassador to the United Nations has said he was "completely outraged" by the UN chief’s speech at the St. Petersberg International Economic Forum.

In his June 16 speech, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Russia "has a critical role to play" in addressing global issues "from ending the conflicts in Ukraine and Syria, to safeguarding human rights and controlling the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction."

Ukrainian Ambassador Volodymyr Yelchenko said he doesn't understand how the UN chief "can say such things which sort of praise the role of Russia in settling the conflict in Ukraine when the Russian Federation is the main player in aggressing Ukraine and in keeping this conflict boiling."

Yelchenko also said Russia is accused of rights abuses in Crimea and that Moscow is "building up the nuclear potential" on the Black Sea peninsula

APPEARS that the UN and Ban Ki-moon simply do not want to call out Russian aggression these days...maybe he is following the Obama example....

Putin will never truly understand the Maidan as he is an oligarch himself and rolling in billions so why the need to understand....

Putin: what was the point of the West supporting Maidan, bloodshed in the east? To justify NATO's sheer existence.

He is failing to remember he himself called out the support to the term "New Russia" in the Donbas and it was he would sent in over 14K Russian troops as an invasion force BUT again it was naturally "NATO's fault".

Yet he himself does not state that it was the resolution of the RF to go independent that led to the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

The eastern Ukraine was never threatened by events in Miadan and if left alone the devolution that is coming out of Maidan would have greatly benefited the Russian speakers of eastern Ukraine...that Putin does not want to talk about as it does not fit his narrative nor the propaganda of the last two years.....

Putin: it's not the matter of separatists. People there are scared of repression, scared that their interests will not be taken into account
