Seems, this was a cruise missile after all: no Russian fighter-bomber.

At least there is still no visual confirmation for anything else - which, considering potential importance of such a success, would've otherwise been praised by Daesh media beyond any belief.

Nevertheless, they did shot down an Assadist fighter-bomber (type unknown), over Khekleh AB. That is: they hit it as this was taking over from there, pilot lost control and ejected while attempting to reach Suweida AB.

Regarding this '16th Brigade': it's actually so that the 65th Airborne Brigade IRIA (reinforced) deployed in Syria is an expeditionary unit consisting of elements from different of units of the Army - including those from the 16th and 45th Commando Brigades, 258th Commando and 388th Mechanized Infantry Battalions.

Wow response is correct here as the EA-6B Prowler is no longer in the active MC service...so must be from a MC Reserve unit.....actually did not know they were still in the inventory....and still flying as most of the active duty Prowler crews were retrained in their replacement F18 series.

Appears that this Vietnam anti AD workhorse is back to work again and that is the clear message being sent by DoD.

One of the core elements of the Russian pushed CoH and Geneva talks not being fulfilled at all by Assad who is beholden to Putin who also does nothing just as he does nothing in eastern Ukraine. There are over 500,000 Sunnis being besieged and or in hard to get to locations.
