Direct ground combat is picking up which along with the intensive shellings indicate that the Russian ground offensive is picking up strength and probing for a weak point in the UAF defensive lines along the entire Minsk 2 front line....
It appears that Russian wants some sort of "military ground victory" in order to move to a compromise that it wants to dictate to the Ukrainians as the US has basically "bought in" in the Kerry and Nuland discussions that Ukraine must compromise without a single Russian compromise....
We can see that in the so call "local election primaries" being held in non compliance with Minsk 2 that will then give Russia the opportunity to say OK we want to reintegrate BUT on the Russian terms which means the DNC/LNC would have a veto over anything Ukraine does ie join NATO or the EU.....

While the west looks at Russian military activity in Crimea, eastern Ukraine and Syria.....Russia is busy building out a very strong artic presence and taking control of far more territory than they are allowed to by international agreements and the WEST says nothing...and building area denial abilities into their defenses.
