BUT WAIT...what a "vodka moment".....the missile defence shield is exactly that..missiles designed to intercept inbound nuclear, chemical or bio missiles....they are nuclear tipped ICMBs or IRBMs......
AND the Russians fully understand that the MD system cannot reach the first or second strategically located ICBMs deep inside Russia...
Same exact Soviet propaganda rattle against the Pershing 2s and cruise missiles that were forward based as a counter to the SS21/22s that Russia had as here forward based.....
BTW...NATO/US had openly offered the Russian MoD a chance to be part of and participate in the MDS but they turned it down.
