I am getting tired of reposting this critical article done by one of the best Russian researchers....

Crimintern: How the Kremlin uses Russia’s criminal networks in Europe

    By Mark Galeotti
    18th April, 2017
    http://www.ecfr.eu/publications/summ...orks_in_europe

In five recent US MSM articles there is finally the growing realization that Russia actively uses Russian overseas criminal gangs as hacking cut outs giving the Russian government a high degree of denialability when accused of being actively involved in hacking operations such as the election of 2016.

Currently under FBI arrest warrants in Prague and Barcelona are two of the top most Russian hackers that while charged under hacking and money laundering are being actively viewed as having been behind the DNC and Podesta hacks....both in paying for them and for running them....

The Russian hacker detained currently in Barcelona is being charged for running a major spam botnet behind the US influence operations.....

The Russian arrested under FBI warrant in Barcelona hacker was behind the Kelihos botnet alleged to have actually been the transfer system for the hacked DNC and Podesta email accounts...

FBI immediately took the entire botnet off line....

How the FBI Took Down Russia's Spam King—And His Massive Botnet

One of the world’s most notorious spammers appears to have been tripped up by a basic cybersecurity no-no, according to the FBI: He used the same log-in credentials to both run his criminal enterprise and also log into sites like iTunes.
The Justice Department announced Monday that it had successfully targeted a man prosecutors called “one of the world’s most notorious criminal spammers,” a Russian hacker known as Peter Yuryevich Levashov, also known as Peter Severa, or “Peter of the North.” Levashov had long run the Kelihos botnet, a global network of infected computers that collectively flooded email inboxes worldwide with spam, stole banking credentials from infected users, and spread malware across the internet.
Spanish authorities arrested Levashov, who normally resides in St. Petersburg, Russia, while he was on vacation with his family. Rumors had swirled over the weekend, sourced only to a vague report on the Russian propaganda network RT, that he’d been involved in that country’s meddling with the 2016 US presidential election, but there was no hint of that in Monday’s Justice Department complaint, which focused instead on Levashov’s role in developing and running one of the internet’s most pernicious and longest-running botnets. Levashov's operation had infected as many as 100,000 computers worldwide, roughly five to ten percent of which were inside the United States.
So to argue that Russia criminal gangs are not tied into Russian propaganda, disinformation and especially state sponsored Russia hacking is in fact rather strange...

It is again like standing in that dark tunnel waiting the train to hit you arguing all the while everything is going to be fine...it is not .....

For those that truly do not believe it....there is a true Russian cyber war....we have long ago left the realm of cyber attacks...ongoing in Europe and US and it came out of hiding shortly in the recent Ukraine cyber invasion as a warning to the West from Russia with love......

REMEMBER Putin's own words during his recent national press conference...quote "the US election attack could have been carried out by Russians who were dissatisfied by the way the West is treating Russia" end of quote.....

State sponsored angry Russians and or non state sponsored angry Russians...an interesting question....

Actually an unusual article for Wired.....

Why Trump says things like "the failing New York Times" and "believe me" over and over and over and over again
    http://wrd.cm/2tr5F6K

In the old style days of foreign language training there is a theory that if you repeat a word seven times it is firmly locked into your brain and thus makes it easier to speak a foreign language....

In the concept of psychological warfare this is exactly what Trump and the proTrump alt right ie white nationalist social media is doing hourly 24 X 7 X 365.

THIS is also the concept behind Russian trolling and the use of bots carrying say a "fake news" narrative....by watching a single Russian troll tweet one will see how it is propagated....by the Twitter method known as "retweeting" ...to the point that at some point even MSM picks it up and then when they publish it ..it really does look like the "truth".....

The list of 20 top proTrump accounts that I previously posted and was deleted has been shown to when using a single tweet and their "retweeters" they are capable of driving a hashtag to the top twitter trending within one hour of it's release...

They fully understand how to play the Twitter algorithms....

I had posted yesterday an article indicating that before Trump gave his speech in Poland he had contacted a well known ultra right Polish American historian for his input...who also had deep contacts to other eastern European ultra rightists and who had a history of anti Semitic statements as well.

This article was deleted as being on a soap box...

But from a well known MSM outlet this was published....

    https://www.theatlantic.com/amp/article/532866/

The Racial and Religious Paranoia of Trump's Warsaw Speech

When the president says being Western is the essence of America’s identity, he’s in part defining America in opposition to some of its own people.

In his speech in Poland on Thursday, Donald Trump referred 10 times to “the West” and five times to “our civilization.” His white nationalist supporters will understand exactly what he means. It’s important that other Americans do, too.
The West is not a geographic term. Poland is further east than Morocco. France is further east than Haiti. Australia is further east than Egypt. Yet Poland, France, and Australia are all considered part of “The West.” Morocco, Haiti, and Egypt are not.
The West is not an ideological or economic term either. India is the world’s largest democracy. Japan is among its most economically advanced nations. No one considers them part of the West.
The West is a racial and religious term. To be considered Western, a country must be largely Christian (preferably Protestant or Catholic) and largely white. Where there is ambiguity about a country’s “Westernness,” it’s because there is ambiguity about, or tension between, these two characteristics. Is Latin America Western? Maybe. Most of its people are Christian, but by U.S. standards, they’re not clearly white. Are Albania and Bosnia Western? Maybe. By American standards, their people are white. But they are also mostly Muslim. #
Steve Bannon, who along with Stephen Miller has shaped much of Trump’s civilizational thinking, has been explicit about this. In a 2014 speech, he celebrated “the long history of the Judeo-Christian West struggle against Islam” and “our forefathers” who “bequeathed to use the great institution that is the church of the West.
    BLUF.....
The proTrump alt right ie white nationalists on social media immediately ran with their comments praising Trump's speech as they fully understood what he was saying....it is what is between the lines that is important or what some call "meta-messaging".....

So is there any difference between Russian disinformation, propaganda and fake news beig pushed by trolls and bots and the proTrump alt right social media trolls and bots.....

None......there is no difference in tactics and uses of disinformation, fake news and propaganda....

Everyone here is talking about why John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA. Disgraceful!

TOTALLY a massive Trump lie.....no sure just who he is talking to outside maybe himself....

THERE has never been a single German, French, Dutch, Japanese, Italian, UK newspaper articles concerning what Trump is stating here..."Everyone here is talking about Podesta DNC server".......

Am betting is one asked any person on the streets of the above countries their response would simply be ..."Podesta who and what server"......

Trump is now firmly in an "altered state of reality".......

BLUF...in his latest tweet it appears that Trump is realizing he will walk away from G20 with no trade deal and or anything in the way of supporting Trump's view on climate change .......

Especially with the announcement that EU and Japan have created a free trade zone larger than NAFTA and has effectively cut US agricultural exports out of Japan....

Had not a lot of posts concerning this individual been deleted one could then fully understand the role of the proTrump alt right ie white nationalist movement in their support to both Trump and their intertwining with Russian information warfare trolls and bots...

The Alt-Right Branding War Has Torn the Movement in Two

    By Andrew Marantz
    6 JUL 2017

    http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-d...ovement-in-two

Well worth reading as it is important to understand just how these two proTrump social media support systems are being pushed and played by Russian info warfare using Russian trolls and bots...on a daily basis...

The phrase “alternative right” has been critiqued on several grounds: that it’s too vague; that it obscures the extent to which the movement is coterminous with the rest of the Republican base; that it’s a euphemism for white supremacy. The definition has shifted over time, both inside and outside the movement, such that, for a while, it was impossible to tell whether any two people who referred to the alt-right were referring to the same thing. During the Presidential campaign, the term came to denote several intersecting phenomena: anti-feminism, opposition to political correctness, online abuse, belligerent nihilism, conspiracy theories, inflammatory Internet memes. Some pro-Trump activists adopted this big-tent definition, allowing any youthful, “edgy” critique of establishment conservatism to be considered alt-right. But a core within the movement always insisted on a narrower conception of the alt-right, one that was inextricably linked with white separatism, and with Spencer specifically.
Now the boundaries are set. Spencer and his allies have won the branding war. They own the alt-right label; their right-wing opponents are aligning themselves against it, working to establish a parallel brand. It has become increasingly clear that this is not a mere rhetorical ploy but a distinction with a difference.

It is now a battle between the white nationalists behind Mike Cernovich and white supremacist Spencer who is married to a Russian with former ties to Russian Today in Russia

Cernovich was behind the twitter campaigns using the hashtags CNNBlcakmail, Syrianhoax and Marconleaks...which got picked up by the US Nazi Party and Russian trolls and bots...

Trump’s leaks crackdown sends chills through national security world

Agency officials say measures have been taken to isolate leakers, creating a culture of fear.

National security officials across the federal government say they are seeing new restrictions on who can access sensitive information, fueling fears in the intelligence and security community that the Trump administration has stepped up a stealthy operation to smoke out leakers.
Officials at various national security agencies also say they are becoming more concerned that the administration is carefully tracking what they’re doing and who they’re talking to — then plotting to use them as a scapegoat or accuse them of leaks.

One U.S. official voiced concern over even talking to their superiors about a benign call from a reporter. The agency this official works for had started limiting staff’s access to information, they said, and it would make it far easier to figure out who was talking to people in the media.
There was suspicion, the official said, that the agency was even tracking what they printed, to keep tabs on what information they were accessing.
    BLUF....
the Trump WH leaks faster than most previous WHs.....they do not mind who leaks they just want to control it...

Last time posting to anything on SWJ...not wanting to say I told you so I am...sad that many are not smelling the coffee right about now on the complete sell out of the US and it's democracy....

Lavrov: "Trump mentioned that in US certain circles still inflate subject of Russian meddling in elections, even though they have no proof."

RIA-Novosti: Putin told by @POTUS "some circles in the US are exaggerating the topic of Russian cyber meddling."
    http://bit.ly/2tV8qPO

Tillerson says Russian approach to Syria - mass civilian casualties, displacement, total destruction - may be "more right" than US approach

Tillerson: "We want to build on commonality... maybe they've got the right approach and we've got the wrong approach." Jesus, Mary & Joseph

So Tillerson will accept Crimea, Donbass, Russian carpet bombing Syria, and undermining elections across the West. Let's move forward

Here we go. Munich conference all over again. Ukraine gets thrown under the bus without a seat at the meeting table.

    BLUF......
Lavrov says Trump "accepted" Putin's assurances that Russia did not hack the U.S. election.
