The graphic picture shows industrial cranes and hemp as being their preference for public execution, which only collaberates ideas of Iran being in a state of belligerence and hostility towards the West.
    How does this follow, exactly?

A state of hostility and belligerence towards its own citizenry or those it defines as criminals, perhaps. However, I have yet to see the argument that the State of Texas is in a state of hostility towards, say, the European Union because it executes more than one inmate per day.

In the converse, TX executions aren't making national and worldly headlines and Iranian gay/human rights activists aren't championing the cause to save TX felons, even those that are gay. Industrial cranes indeed.......the poor lads don't even have their necks snapped, just throttled slowly..... it's no stretch of imagination to conclude that such folks wouldn't hesitate to incinerate a few million Jews with nukes, given the chance

"This is a stunning victory for human rights and a reminder of the power of global protest,” said Paula Ettelbrick, executive director of the New York-based International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission, which worked to draw attention to Mouloodzadeh’s case." (same cited reference)
