WASHINGTON (AP) - Iran must pay $2.65 billion to the families of the 241 U.S. service members killed in the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, a federal judge declared Friday in a ruling that left survivors and families shedding tears of joy.
Lets not forget that the French Foreign Legion HQ was bombed at the same time killing 52 Legionaries.

"But suppose everybody on our side felt that way?"
"Then I'd certainly be a damned fool to feel any other way. Wouldn't I?"

Finally there's some official assignment of culpability after years of hearsay. The timing is terrible, though - I can't imagine it'd do much to cool US-Iran relations and it gives Ahmadinejad more anti-US rhetoric to use domestically.
