The dianne rehm show is doing a program on anthropologists and the military (10:00 a.m. EST). WAMU in Washington, D.C. you can get it on itunes, and i assume from their website also. they take comments by phone and email--see website for particulars, wamu.org. NB: I have heard conflicting times, it may also be at 10am. Definitely 10 am.

The U.S. military is now sending teams of anthropologists and social scientists out to assist all combat brigades in Iraq and Afghanistan. The effort has reportedly helped troops improve relations with local populations and avert casualties, while raising a hearty debate among anthropologists over the ethical boundaries of their profession.
