I worked (indirectly) for him, and most of the folks in my current job worked directly for him, and loathed him, pretty universally. It appears that he was, indeed, focused on the PowerPoint presentation.

I remember one VTC where the briefing officer, a Reserve LTC, repeatedly pointed out how a number was wrong on a slide, and Sanchez repeatedly kept talking about the original number, as if it were the ground truth.

It's curious as to why he implicates his own incompetence in this manner. Are people so simple as to not see that he, of all people, should've been the one to attempt to correct the problems as they were occurring?
