    Default Progress in Iraq

C-SPAN video intereivew - Dr. Conrad Crane, Army War College, Military History Institute Director, discusses military progress in Iraq and the military report released December, 2007. Dr. Crane who returned from Iraq last month, was the main author of the U.S. military's new counterinsurgency doctrine in Iraq.

Although I disagree with almost every interpretive point that Con made on the show concerning the Surge and Iraq I would like to point out that he is a world-class historian and great teacher. I raise this because sometimes his work on FM 3-24 overshadows his very important and large body of work as a historian. His scholarly work on airpower, especially his work on world war II strategic bombing, still commands the field.

Plus he is a good friend and trusted mentor to me.
