Default Carl Schmitt's Theory of the Partisan

I think this piece will be of interest to both practitioners and scholars. It is quite long but worth the read as it examines the deep aspects of conflict and the state.

Theory of the Partisan by Dr. Carl Schmitt

Schmitt was a brilliant academic theorist but a highly unsavory character, having lent his intellectual prestige to the Third Reich and become a Nazi through his theoretical devotion to authoritarianism.

A friend of mine has translated some works by Schmitt, so I hear a lot of stuff of his secondhand. Very interesting character.

    Thumbs up schmitt

It is true. Schmitt is very interesting author. I've read when I was young, there are a lot of book useful to understand ins and coin. Inside "Der Nomos der Erde im Voelkerrecht des Jus Publicum Europaeum" (I'm sorry, I've not founded in english: I red it in italian) there is a wonderful page about asymmetric war (1974) where he says that a state in possession of overwhelming technique against a weak actor does not regard its adversary as a legitimate (lawful) enemy, but as bandit.
Schmitt is very useful thinker for is logic in the middle of law, philosophy and he is able to think about war.
There is also a line with Leo Strauss and afterwards with neocons.
