Artificial. As in the author of the article. Smith has about as much credibility as WND or NEIN.

Lebanon ain't California, but earthquakes aren't new there either. The last big one back in '56 destroyed a big part of the old city of Sidon. There was a 4.2 quake in Tyre earlier this year, with a couple of aftershocks that were felt as far as Bint Jbeil near the Israeli border. It is not unreasonable for there to be occasional smaller quakes in the region that barely register. Then combine that with Smith's tendency to fabricate for effect, and the WCCR's known strong biases and you have the making of a sensational story.

....and in Israel and as far south Tel-Aviv. Earth quakes/tremors are at least monthly occurrences. The whole region lies on the rift valley fault. So when your wife says she "felt the earth move," she probably did and you were probably asleep!

Absolutely and it runs all the way down to the house on Lake Kivu where Stan and I lived in the Goma Refugee Festival of 1994.

I rode out several quakes as a UN observer in southern Lebanon, especially at OP Khiam.
