I was caught a bit off guard by last week's SWJ post on "The New Media"(TNM) as I'm currently writing a paper on this subject.

Kilcullen argued that TNM had several dimensions:
First, in re-orienting the force to counterinsurgency we made extensive use of tactical blogs, informal email networks and sites like companycommand.com and platoonleader.org, as well as the MNF-I and MNC-I web presence (both within the FOUO firewall and outside it)
As I have no access to either forum I'd love to hear some insight of Junior officers and also Soldiers who have been using blogs/ online fora/ or online newsletter for education, especially those two above mentioned fora.

Would be great if you could give me some "anecdotal" evidence how it helped on the ground.
