    I am looking for information on Latin American Gangs MS-13 or similar groups any kind of historical perspectives or lessons learned.

    Moved this post to the RFI arena. There have been discussions on this issue before. Have you searched SWC? There are several SWC members who watch Latin America and gangs - hopefully they can help.

    Appreciate the help!! One of my friends who deals with missionaries in Latin America asked me about this, with my focus being Afghanistan I really dont know where to start.

    Looking for an academic, at least well researched and hopefully noted, book on the dynamics of gangs like MS13 and 18th Street and how they have spread across borders from LA to Mexico and Central America.
    I have advised him on that thread that I think the answer lies on this thread.
