kaur posted this link and one should really look intently at the video for a number of reasons---the most important one is the use of the word "fascist" notice the old man telling a "Chechen" fighter to "kill all the fascists" take no one alive.

    https://news.vice.com/video/bullets-...te-dispatch-42

Now go back and refer to virtually all press releases out of Russian news agencies ie TASS, Interfax and RAI and then Russian tv/radio and then internationally RT and Raptly (for video footage) and count the use of the single word or groups of words using the term "fascist".

One would have a count that goes into literally thousands of times and that is actually significant in the world of propaganda. There is an old language learning rule---repeat the word seven times and it will stick in your head---the same goes for propaganda.

The ethnic Russian/Russian speaking population of the east/south Ukraine has been so "radicalized" via the words "fascists, Nazi's, radical nationalists, junta, coup" etc. that there is currently no way the Kiev government can get into a meaningful dialogue as demanded by Russia with the two areas.

If one had the link that I posted on the Ukraine discussion which was removed by SWJ one would have seen a number of cell photos on his cell taken by a dead "Chechen" fighter which clearly identified him as a member of a known fanatical Putin supporting Chechen "nationalist" grouping that has been brutal in Chechnya and in Western terms would in fact be defined as "fascist" and actually if one Wikipedias' the term "Russian fascism" the group would even be defined under Russian terms as "fascist".

What was striking in the photos was the use of the unit's Chechen logo and the Russian 4X4s in the parking garage carrying Russian plates and their carrying of the AK105 only issued to Russian GRU/SF types.

When one discusses information warfare then refer to the eight phases of the new Russian UW strategy call new generation warfare and see exactly what emphasis they place on it.

When one now sees how this "Chechen" group has formally taken over control on the ground now in the Donetsk one might in fact state the east has been lost as it is now Putin's favored "nationalist" group in full control in the Donbas---the criminals and locals have been pushed to the side and the Chechens are in full control---ie the Crimea all over it just took more time and yet the Ukraine thread does not see that shift as mirhond the FSB commenter has kept the responses going in an interesting direction and totally away from that shift by his comments which are interesting to watch.

There was a recent statement by a Russian media type who stated we "won the military war in Georgia but lost the "information war"---this time we are "winning handedly" and the West has truly lost.

    This statement says it all.

Then on the SWJ Ukraine thread we get a taste of the information warfare and for some reason we commenters seem to turn a blind eye-interesting is it not that when we use the term "fascist" we in the West define and react differently to it and run from it instead of "fully understanding just how it is used"?

Instead we should be debating and commenting on how exactly this word "fascist" has become the central messaging of the Russian information war under their new UW strategy and it has been working brilliantly based on Western actions or rather inactions.
